Stereo Display System for Classrooms
158 Willard Building
Room 158 Willard Building, in addition to offering
a standard Windows technology classroom configuration,
has been equipped with a dual-headed, 3D stereo, WindowsXP
graphics workstation and a multi-projector system that allows
wide screen 3D stereo and enhanced multimedia projection in a
lecture classroom. Any OpenGL, stereo enabled Windows graphics
application can be used to display in passive 3D stereo using
inexpensive "theme-park" styple polarized glasses. Initially
installed for stereo use on the system are VMD and SwissPDB
Viewer, for viewing molecular structures, SuddenDepth, for
viewing stereo image pairs, and GLSMpegPlayer, for viewing
stereo movies. A partial list of compatible stereo enabled
applications is available from
StereoGraphics Corporation.
A loaner set of glasses is available for use in initial evaluations of the facility.
If you are a Penn State faculty member who would be interested
